Getting involved with the ACLU ...... can mean many different things for different people. Many of us share strong feelings about issues that have been receiving the benefit of ACLU advocacy for many years, such as freedom of speech, full and equal civil rights for minority groups, and equal treatment of the sexes in government regulations and laws. Joining these ongoing campaigns may mean attending or helping organize educational programs that grow awareness among our fellow citizens, writing letters to political leaders, signing petitions, and educating ourselves to become better advocates for civil liberties among our families, friends and colleagues. A first step, if you're not already a member, may be to join the ACLU. Joining can be done through websites from either our Northern California ACLU affiliate at www.aclunc.org or through the national aclu website at www.aclu.org. When you join, you are automatically made a member of the local chapter for your own area. For residents of Santa Cruz County in California, you're joining us - the Santa Cruz ACLU. If you want to connect in with us locally, email us at info@aclusantacruz.org.
Every chapter is always eager to bring on the ideas and energy of new members, so talk to us and let's work together to defend civil liberties in America. Thank you.
