The GLBT Alliance of Santa Cruz County is planning an educational forum focusing on legislation enacted in 2007, how it will effect the glbt community, and what we can expect in 2008. The topics will include the changes in state tax codes in relation to Domestic Partners, discussion of immigration issues for binational same-gender couples, and an update on the state marriage case, as well as why the coming year is important politically.

The forum will be from 3-5 pm on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the Community Room of the Santa Cruz Police Department, 155 Center Street, Santa Cruz. Speakers will include Assemblymember John Laird, Estate Planning Attorney Eileen S. Hamilton, Family Law Attorney Emily Trexel, and Mike Rotkin, Santa Cruz City Councilmember and member of the Board of the ACLU's Santa Cruz Chapter.

The Santa Cruz Chapter of the ACLU is joining the Diversity Center in co-sponsoring this event.
